SATs dates 2027: KS2 test week and timetable
The 2027 KS2 tests in England are scheduled from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May 2027. The official timetable now confirms which papers take place each day.
Use the table below to check the dates, then follow any arrangements sent by your child’s school. The linked revision guide and planner can help you choose practice topics.
The day-by-day timetable
The Standards and Testing Agency published this day-by-day timetable on 1 September 2026.
| Day | Papers |
|---|---|
| Monday 10 May 2027 | Grammar, punctuation and spelling: paper 1 (questions) and paper 2 (spelling) |
| Tuesday 11 May 2027 | English reading |
| Wednesday 12 May 2027 | Maths paper 1 (arithmetic) and paper 2 (reasoning) |
| Thursday 13 May 2027 | Maths paper 3 (reasoning) |
If your child misses a test, contact the school. The 2027 parent guidance says a missed test may be taken up to five school days later, but the school must obtain approval for a timetable variation.
Our Year 6 SATs revision guide and arithmetic practice page offer places to start.
Add the SATs dates to your calendar
Download the 2027 KS2 SATs calendar (.ics). It contains four all-day entries, from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May 2027, with the papers scheduled for each day.
The dates follow the official 2027 timetable. This file retains its source check of 10 October 2026 and revision 1. A separate comparison with official guidance on 19 October 2026 found the same four dates. Check your school’s arrangements for your child. The entries do not set a start time.
This download won’t update automatically. Add it to your calendar once and check the entries. If the timetable changes, remove the old four entries before adding the new file to avoid duplicates.
If the file does not open on your phone, save it and use your calendar’s import option on a computer. The timetable above remains available to read or print. No account with TheLearnDen is needed.
Make a weekly study plan
Choose what to practise each week
Pick a week and a few topics you want to work on. You can open the matching learning resources, print your choices or add a weekly reminder to your own calendar.
Your study choices stay in this open page. Print or download them before closing or refreshing it. No TheLearnDen account is needed.
Without the interactive controls, write your chosen Monday and topics on paper, then use the resources below. The official test-date download remains separate.
Before adding your study weeks to a calendar
The study download adds one all-day entry on the Monday of each chosen week, with links to your topics. It does not set a lesson time or include the official SATs dates. Use the separate test-date download above for those.
A downloaded study plan will not update itself. If you change your choices and download again, remove the old study entries before importing the replacement to avoid duplicates.
Prefer paper? Use the existing printable SATs countdown planner, or write a week and topic on paper. Resource links open in a new tab so this open plan stays here.
Your file adds a reminder on each Monday you choose. It won’t update automatically and does not include the official test dates. Remove old study entries before adding a replacement.
Clear all your study weeks? Download or print first if you want to keep them.
What about Year 2 (KS1) in 2027?
KS1 SATs are optional. Schools that choose to use the optional tests are advised to run them during May 2027, but there is no national KS1 test week and no requirement to sit them. Our separate page on KS1 SATs in 2027 explains the current position and what replaced the old statutory tests.
SATs dates 2028
The published 2028 timetable gives Monday 8 May to Thursday 11 May 2028 for the KS2 tests. Check the government page for updates before making plans.

Frequently asked questions
Are the SATs dates 2027 confirmed?
Yes. The official timetable confirms the test week and the daily paper order shown above.
When do the 2027 SATs results come out?
Schools can access results from Tuesday 6 July 2027. They decide how to share them with families, who should receive them by the end of the summer term. See our SATs results guide.
What if my child cannot take a test?
Ask the school about your child’s circumstances. The parent guidance explains that some pupils are assessed differently or do not take the tests. A missed test and a decision not to enter a pupil have different arrangements.
